This is 100% pro shot. I just like more lit backgrounds. In this contest there is a photo of nice girl in white with 3.6 stars with very poor background lighting
Fair enough. I was going for a more dramatic look in this image, which is why it's so dark. When I made the comment about feedback, I just meant it in general. "Needs Work" is much more helpful when you know what needs work. But I do appreciate your feedback and you taking the time to write it out!
I like this photo and what you did with the lighting contrast between her and the background. It definitely does create a dramatic mood. The one thing I would change would be to recompose the shot so that dark section of the court doesn't intersect with head on the right side, it pulls my eye away from her face a little bit. Maybe also a reflector disk off to the right to bounce some light back onto the right side of her face to warm up the blueish highlight. I'm no expert, just some thoughts! Keep it up!
