My boys and I were camping on Whitetop Mountain when we decided to head to Grayson Highland State Park to watch the sunset. After hiking to Little Pinnacles we decided to stop there to eat some dinner while enjoying this amazing view. Just before the sun set behind the Blue Ridge Mountains the sun popped out from behind the clouds creating theses stunning light rays on this mountain ridges. This is the closest I've even seen to an alpenglow on the east coast. Like most images the light is what really makes this image so spectacular plus the stellar view and one of the best in Virginia.
