Took a couple of tries but I had a lot of fun capturing this spiral as my friend seasoned some burgers by headlamp.

Shot with canon 70D 50-1.8

Lee Morris Patrick Hall Thank you so much for the critique! To answer your questions, there is no crop, other than the cameras crop. I was basically back against a wall with a 50-1.8 on a crop 1.6 sensor. So about 80. I wanted the spiral of the seasoning to be the focus so I did my best to compose in a way that that was the highlight. It is lit by the cooks head lamp. Should I have maybe just cropped in on the spiral? Although the cook wasn't the focus I thought that little glimpse of him added some depth, but if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

You guys shredded me.ha Pretty much what I expected with that shot. I liked the contest, and wanted to submit something that wasn't stars, or long exposures of traffic, so I threw one out that got decent instagram feedback. First time submitting. Cant believe I got featured AND won the tutorial. Never planned on using the shot for anything, definitely wont be now.lol Thanks again for the taking the time to look over and discuss my shot. Patrick, you're cold blooded. But I dig it.

Hahah, sorry man, I don't like being harsh but I have to be honest....congrats on the random winning submission!

Thank you! I was just glad I got in the critique with my first submission, and I was glad to get feedback. Even if it was something I never planned to use. It’s always helpful no matter what the shot is for to get insight as to how to make it better. This was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to submit in the future.
