For a long time I dreamed of visiting Iceland. Finally, my budget allowed this journey. I finally could take pictures of the most inspiring places for landscape photographers. This one has been taken at the Skógafoss. It is one of Iceland's biggest and most photographed waterfalls with a width of 25 metres and a drop of 60 m. Once I set up my tripod, I ran into the frame and posed in my red raincoat on the small stone very close to the waterfall. After that, the other tourists surrounding me imitated me. I waited until a beautiful girl posed nicely in front of it. Of course, I chose the girl shot, not my selfie for the portfolio. ;)

Congratulations to the winners!
I'm not a big fan of environmental portraits. For the most part, they annoy me because they aren't well done. This one though, just fantastic. You have the perfect model for this. Her hair color ads a nice splash to this and just balances the photo.
You consider that an environmental portrait? I'm surprised :D Anyway big thanks for your appreciation of my work. I could not agree with you more. On a funny note: It's not a model, just a total stranger who saw me posing on this rock and imitated me afterwards :D
Amazing!
Like the perspective this gives to the power of the water.
thanks a lot, Carl!
Impressive shot.
Honestly, this shot has been done a thousand times. It's a good image, but pretty much everyone going to Skogafoss takes this shot. Sorry, I don't want to be discouraging, it's just my opinion of course.
Lukas, you are completely right. The time I took that image, which was a few years ago, it wasn't that popular yet. But now, I totally agree with you!
The whole genre of landscape photography is repetitive af anyways. That's why I switched over to a different style on my actual work now.
