I shot this on the waterfront of my home town in North Carolina. I was out shooting some of the piers and boats during golden hour when I noticed this pelican sitting on a pylon being bathed in the perfect light. I quickly changed to my telephoto and shot away. It sat there the entire time as if it was almost posing for me. Side note, this was the first time I tried back button focusing and I got the sharpest animal photos I had ever gotten at that point, and I've been using it ever since.
