Final product was made with color adjustments bring out more color in the sky and the glow of the setting sun through lightroom from a raw file. As a photo student I'm hoping to learn how I could improve something like this in the future.

Hi Eric,

I see and appreciate what you are trying to do here.

Silhouette is most often effective when it is graphically simple, or there is some sort of pattern. However, you have presented a bit of a mess here.

The closest thing to a subject (excluding the sun) is the tree at the left of frame, however, you have cut the left of that.

Also, you have twigs intruding on the right of frame; these are distracting and intrusive, and contribute nothing to the image overall.

The colours are generally pleasing, and the sun star is cool.

My best advice would be to closely examine what a wide range of photographic and artistic masters have done. No one starts out an expert, and almost everyone got to where they are through years of determination, consistency, and hard work.

Cheers.

Thank you so much for that I was begging to think no one was going to leave any meaningful insights as on how to improve. As a photo student this means quite a bit to me

A pleasure, good sir.

Just stick with it. And ironically, the best way to improve is not take seriously; just have fun :)

I agree thinking back on it this photo when i took it at the time felt more forced than anything else because I wasn't mentally seeing a photo coming together
