I want to like this more, but I think the expression on his face is real blank, almost frozen. His outfit and pose are really nice though.
I got different definitions for what is blank regular expression. it's maybe not exhagurated to any direction. But when I'm trying to do a classic portrait, i inspired more from classic royal paintings that have similar recognizable look. This was a specific expression that i wanted to achieve. don't think that other expression could benefit more for this purpose.
I like the shot, I do think the Skin Softening is over done, you can see where it is done and where it stops. I think that would be it. I would have given it a higher rating. I think the expression is good, it is blank, but that's not always bad. The background is great, the lighting on the background (if done purposely) is perfect.
