An Alligator Gar leaps out of the water with a fish that the Osprey has crashed down to catch. The action was caught with a Nikon D500 and the entire drama played out in about 1/2 second. This was taken at Lake Jesup near Orlando, FL.

Ironically, I couldn't see any of the action until I got home and viewed the photos. The mirror/shutter on the D500 blocks the view through the viewfinder. Needless to say it was a very pleasant surprise!
