1.6 - "Needs Work" 

Taken with a Canon 1300d and kit lens held in reverse. Rainy season was a few week away from starting in Malawi when the pic was taken

I don't shoot a lot of flora - but one trick I've learned is to focus, then *also* to very slighly lean in and out just a bit while taking a number of images.

In this case, the focus seems spot on the front-side of the bud and the little furry outgrowth, but misses the insect and flower's center, so it doesn't quite work.

Hope that is helpful criticism and not too negative...

very helpful. I just have to get into the mindset of shooting in bursts to focus stack in post

I need to practice with focus variations and stacking also. So I relate. :)
