During a hike in the early spring, this was the first sign of life returning. It was an overcast day, so the lighting was perfectly soft, and the wide open aperture gave a strong sense of how small and fragile these flowers were.

I think this is a great find and I really like the description, but as a portfolio worthy shot, I think you missed your opportunity to make this a macro shot without the distracting massive bits of brownness to divert from your beauty of the flower and green leafy background. If you have enough pixel range in the image, I'd crop in.
