IMO this image could be improved in a few areas.
1. Her expression is in contrast to the edit and subtracts from the mood of the subject. The muted colors and crushed blacks bring the life down yet she’s at what looks like the height of her laughter.
2. Many may look at this at a snapshot because of her expression as well. Her laugh is at the point where it’s not the most flattering and not typically when you would want to capture one.
3. There’s no interaction with the camera and nothing to say this is a senior portrait. Some people vote 1 Star because they don’t see it fitting the contest.
