Might have worked better as a color portrait. In my opinion, the selective coloring doesn't work for this photograph.

the intent was 2 fold
1. to show with the harsh contrast (sunlight) that resembles the fasting vs normal life
2. highlighting the marking to put the emphasis on the religious part / phase the gentlemen was in
