There is so much potential here. I would prefer to see the monastery in light, and in post processing darkening the surrounding rock and hills. As is, the monastery is almost lost.
I agree. That would have been an amazing scenario to have the light hitting the monastery. I was there somewhat on the mid day, so lighting wasn't ideal, but i heard that the location was meant so that the sun will never hit the monastery. This place is basically a desert. Being shielded by the mountains' shadow was on purpose
