2.6 - "Solid"

While travelling through Sweden's countryside we came across this tiny cabin in the middle of a forest. Inside is a small table and chair with a notebook filled with messages from other people who have stumbled upon the same cabin.

Another image I think is a solid portfolio image that has a community average of 2.48 with 25 votes and no comments.

I find that by providing criticism it helps me when I am taking the pictures and when I receive it I learn from other's experiences.

I like the image. There are a few "wierd" things in it though. The back of the cabin seem to be light with a strobe or something. I like that but, it made me look at it a few times to figure out what was going on. (was there a strobe or light in the back of the cabin?)

I like the dark feeling of the image. I would like the exposure kicked up a half stop or maybe a full stop, I want to see a little more of the image.

I like the composition, the depth of field is spot on, and the concept is great!

I think if it was a little brighter I would have voted 4-star.

I really wanted to rate this image a little higher. There's a very compelling story here, and the lighting looks amazing. I feel hemmed in by hazy washed out tones. Not sure what I would do to improve, but I feel the image is asking for something. Darker tones? A touch more vignette on the furthest edges? Not entirely sure, but definitely something here that could warrant a 4 star with a little work.
