I wonder if people are rating this low because they are jerks or don't take in account that it is a photojournalistic style shot. You can not pose them, bring in lighting, etc...
I gave you a three-star on this. I like the shot, the two players in focus are obviously on the winning team. The story is told.
I would like the other photographer out of the shot That is the only major issue I have with this shot. We try to keep other photographers out of our images, may not be a rule, but is for me. Unless I am capturing the photographer to share with them.
I completely agree. Obviously I wish the other photographer wasn't there and that the stands were filled with people but what people do understand it how fast this happen in real life. This whole scene happen in only about 10 seconds. The other photographer actually bumped into me 1 second after I took this and apologized so it's all good haha.
I definitely know it's 4-5 star and not every photo needs to be. It's just a nice image of the players celebrating a win
Also agree. Personally I would have cropped a little bit so you can't see the photographer looking at the camera, but other than that this is a great capture and I love the natural framing between the people in the foreground.
This was a tougher one for me. I gave it a 2, but mostly because the most eye-drawing elements are the two left/right people closer up to the camera. Where it seems the joyful subject is really the in-focus players further back.
Maybe a tighter crop, even vertical, could make it a stronger shot visually?
I appreciate your feedback a lot. I will definitely test out different crops for sure
