Simplest light-setup: Two flourescent bulbs in a soft box on either side (the cheap ones from amazon) because I wanted to have the light as even as possible to help my first try with a bald cap.
Needless to say, there was a lot of retouching in PS due to my sub-par makeup skills but I like the soft warm colors and the model clearly rocked the look.

Iv been debating ordering those cheap lights. How are you liking them?

For the price they're unbeatable, though pretty limited in use due to the low output compared to flash. I only use them for beauty with open aperture or whenever I wanna do video as well.

I still have them with me on almost every shoot though, because it makes makeup so much easier with symmetric and soft light next to the mirror.

You should make your own thread where you do a lighting chart, using those lights. Maybe re create some photos. Real reviews from someone unpaid by it or tryi g to generate likes.

Maybe I will post a picture with lighting chart in the portrait group. But as I said, I don't use them very often, because I like features and flexibility that flash gives me.
Thanks for the interest though :)

Why the bald cap?! :)

The cropping is distracting, either cut half an inch into the head, or leave some more space above.

A bit tricky to explain… We were shooting a weekly series with some friends (no professional models but very talented nonetheless) and that week's topic was "transformation". As she's got gorgeous long hair, naturally we went for something extreme that I knew through a bit of theatre-background.

Thanks for the feedback on the composition! With the final Image for Instagram I cropped into the head like you suggest.
