Architecture in unexpected places
This image is a single exposure, taken on a cloudy day, as I was walking on a sea-side road on Galveston Island, TX.
I was trying to capture the calm mood of the day, as well as the simple organic beauty of this painted concrete structure, which usually gets engulfed in the hustle and bustle of the road next to which it stands.
What initially captured my attention was how the clouds (and perhaps ambient humidity) had softened the interplay of light and shadows.
Perhaps not the most traditional style of photo in the architectural photography genre, however, I felt that it was a good representation of the interaction of a manmade structure with perfectly natural lighting.
