My dad and I decided to create an image with him as a Viking king. I took this shot of him in my basement studio with three lights and a 24x36 flag using my Nikon Z7 and 50mm 1.8 F-Mount lens with FTZ adapter and Tiffen 1/4 black pro-mist filter.
Key light is a beauty dish camera right. A flag casts the shadow on the right side of the face and shoulder. A background light with 30 degree grid illuminates the background, and a third light with 40" softbox provides fill.
This is an amazing shot! Love the light and the edit is perfect! There are a few small details that could elevate this photo to 4 for me, and one is crop, I don't like the sword being cut out and would like to see just a bit more space above the head. Also, more light on the right side of the face (his left). Maybe even not overlapping the sword with the pin (but that's just nitpicking). Great job!
