I took an image of an empty space suit hanging near the pool that is used to simulate weightlessness (courtesy of NASA) and removed it from it's background. Took another image (again courtesy of NASA) of a helmet and backpack and put the two together to make a standing astronaut. I then combined three different images of dry lakebed near my house to create the "planet". The sky was a shot from Florida that has been colorized. Shadows and the reflection on the visor were created in Photoshop. The rover is also courtesy of NASA.
