This is a very large 62ct crystal carved opal. Shot in slightly diffuse sunlight. When photographing opal, buyers want to have photos of the stones mostly in natural sunlight with almost zero editing (so that they can know exactly how it will look in person). This can be quite a challenge, and requires a good deal of patience in waiting for the right day (sunny or overcast), right time of day, and need to have the setup ready to go. I still have this pendant in my collection, and think I might take another stab at photographing it. I took this back on a Sony NEX5.
