This was essentially the synthesis of 2 half-baked ideas that had been rolling around my head for a while. I had been driving past this maize field for years and had often thought I would like to do some kind of shoot at that location, but never sure of exactly what. Later, I had another idea about a 'wet look' shoot but I didn't want to go down the usual route but add a sense of mystery and eerieness if I could. I bought two types of cloth but the other did not hold water well and had a sheen from the flash. This photograph was taken at dusk and the lighting is from a single source.

Still half baked. What's it telling us, what's the story?
James, there's generally no 'story' to most photographs (unless they are documentary) other than what you, the viewer, ascribe to them.
I like the glow in the background against the dark maize, I would be happy to shoot any portrait in such a cool location...
