Wrens spend most of their lives hunting for insects in dense vegetation. Even in Spring, when the males stake out a territory, they usually sing from cover. Just occasionally they emerge to show off to rivals.

What a dynamic pose! And I love that the perch is natural, and not a cut-off fencepost or some such manmade thing.
