This rough wing swallow was shot in Atlanta on Candler Lake early AM on a cold morning when the water was like glass making this shot almost look like I was panning w/ low shutter speed. Keeper rate for me on this species is low enough for me to wonder I'm not spending time doing more productive things like training cats to fetch volleyballs, or debating flat-earthers on twitter. These extremely fast fliers are small, erratic, and there's a pretty short window to have a chance at a good shot each spring. I have been making a this an annual photo challenge for myself each April to get at least 1 shot worth not deleting instead of doing my taxes.
