A portrait I took of my friend Ken. He brought this great hat over and I happened to have a suit jacket that went really well with it.
Lit using two Neewer S101-400. The main light had a 47" octa, and the second light had a 24" octa and was used as a "hat" light. Normally I might have used a strip box, but I don't own one so I made it work with the octa. Photographed using a Canon 5D MKIII with a Canon EF 135mm f/2.8 Soft Focus Lens (the soft focus setting was disabled for this shot), set to f/10, 1/125th sec, ISO 100.
I really like that you lit the hat. I feel like the brighter left side adds some balance to the image. The blue color is a satisfying color too.
Lighting is well done. Good job.
Love this picture. Not only a well-taken photo but you get a real sense of the person shot. The only nitpicky thing I would say is maybe get him to wear a slightly lighter T-shirt to bring out the jacket more. But it is being nitpicky!!!
