The Chess Queen... I shot this in studio using 3 lights. The key light was on axis just about my camera, the other two lights were on either side behind the subject to give a little rim lighting. Minor touchups and color grading in PS completed the image.

Excellent lighting, I appreciate the nearly uniform shading of the cheeks. I think that the dark top was a good choice too. I think that maybe the table and chess board added some color cast? The shade of her face, hands, and the light chess pieces are close but not the same. I feel if you could match these together it would kick it up quite a lot. I also appreciate that the chess board draws my secondary attention so that I see her first then bounce between her face and the board.
