"Why so Serious?"

I try to do self-portrait days occasionally to test new ideas and practice lighting in my home studio, also known as our living room. I collect mood boards for this and usually work on 4-5 ideas at a time. Usually, one ends up becoming a new profile picture. This time, one of the ideas was a more humorous self-portrait.

I do my post-processing in Lightroom and Photoshop. I mainly use a gray background since it is so versatile, and I texture it in post-processing. For this, I also used liquify for the face and beard to get the look I wanted. My workflow usually goes like this: image manipulations, cleaning, background, light (vignette, dodge & burn, etc.), color grade, sharpening.
