This photo is of Odong Samel, a 68 year old cassava farmer in rural Lunyiri Village in Northern Uganda. Each year, Odong and his family painstakingly farm 10 acres by hand, often circulating between maize, cassava and potato. With little direction, he chose to show off his preferred farming tool, a garden hoe, as a fierce afternoon monsoonal storm approaches.
Taken on the Canon R6/EF 24-70ii — 1/320sec, F2.8, iso 320, mostly natural light with a small bump from a FlashPoint XPLOR 600 through a multi-stop diffused Aputure Light Dome III. Little luminance post processing done in Lightroom (and overall) with some finite color controls completed in Photoshop.
