1.9 - "Needs Work"

Gear: Nikon Z6II, Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.8 S | 1/500, f/1.8, ISO 320

Rain was just rolling in on the last day of a Convention here in Denver, Colorado. I was on my way inside from this patio area as I saw a couple cosplayers standing under the awning, looking as if they wanted to go out to take photos. I kindly asked them if they would like to do some really quickly and they convinced themselves that they should, despite the rain and what it could do to the electronics of their cosplay and so on. I wanted to use the space because most of this resort was under construction, I thought the fire of the firepit here might add in something interesting to the background.

This was my winning shot. It might be obvious now looking at the edit, but I used Lightroom to auto grab the background, did a bit of brush to some noticeable spots and pulled back the exposure. I applied color grading to that I felt like fit the feel of the costume.

Chainsaw Man is the character for anyone wondering.

The stone and fire in the background work really well to compliment the subject which I think you also captured well. The chairs and that one cloud, though, I think distract a little too much. I think removing them would not be "cheating" and would really enhance this.
