On the occasion of our anniversary, my girlfriend and I ventured to Tepoztlán, Mexico, for a delightful meal. During one such moment, as I returned from the restroom, I caught sight of her patiently waiting at our table. The scene was so endearing that I couldn't resist capturing the essence of the moment. This photograph, taken from a distance, encapsulates the genuine warmth and joy of that day. I opted for minimal color and light adjustments to preserve the authenticity of the scene, allowing the raw beauty of the moment to shine through.

Totally get what you're saying about letting the moment shine through. However, I think that this might be one of those moments where you've got the "I took the picture" bias. You know what it was like to be there; how it felt. But we as new viewers only have what you're presenting us even though you included a description.
If I may, a simple color adjustment (I'm guessing add some magenta) and maybe a small crop too would elevate this candid portrait a great deal. The first thing I saw was the greenish color cast and the beauty of the moment, which you remember so vividly, was unfortunately lost on me.
