2 - "Needs Work"

This image was shot on the Sony A7IV with a rented Tamron 70-180 f/2.8 (V1). It was shot at 91mm, f/11, 160 ISO, and 1/125 shutter. I placed a strobe with a wound umbrella snoot facing the wall to provide a small kick of light onto the foreground wall, while another strobe was placed behind the wall on the model to illuminate her face and outfit. An additional strobe fired behind the subject from around the corner to provide an even amount of light on both sides of the subject.

In post I made basic corrections in Lightroom and Luminar Neo. I used relighting to separate the subject from the background and added some blue tint to the background while slightly adjusting the color temp of the subject in order to create color contrast in the image.

Just out of curiosity why did you shoot stopped down so far?

I had recently gone to a workshop that photographer Rick Friedman was running, and apparently he shoots nearly everything he does stopped down quite a bit (between f/5.6-11). With that in mind I tried to model the settings he had been talking about. My own style is much more used to using fast apertures, so I was playing around with settings that I'm not typically used to.
