So, not so long ago my tire completely exploded on my way home from work. I could have changed it by the side of the road or slowly driven to a petrol station to change it there. However, my car decided it wanted to be quirky and not start. With the sunlight slowly fading on a country road in South Africa and very few options left. I decided to call my dad to come help me.
After a while, he showed up and we had a terrible experience towing the car to the Shell garage. That was when we found out neither of us had jumper leads to start the car. So we abandoned it, collected the leads from home, and drove back to change the tire and start the car.
While my dad changed the tire I just sat back and enjoyed the moment and thought this would make a great photo. In the following weeks, I started to plan a shoot to recreate the moment. I hired a model, and lights, got an assistant, and organized a location. The scuff marks on the side of the car are the real marks the tire made when it exploded.
This is the photo I took. I'm getting it framed and selling it in a fine art gallery and thought I'd submit it here. Enjoy.
