I took the picture from street level while in Houston, then straightened up the lines in post.
With the resulting slightly unrealistic perspective and the zoomed-in framing, I wanted to bring the picture toward the abstract and thus put an emphasis on the raw geometry of such a building.
But those are not just black lines: the viewer can see blinds pulled at different lengths, some furniture… Ultimately, those geometrical buildings are leaved in. There is something human, organic, to them.
This is actually a picture I took quite early in my photography journey, using a Nikon D3300 and a 55-200 mm DX kit lens.
I stopped scrolling instantly. The graphic aspect is wonderful! I can easily see this hanging on an office wall.
