Apartment blocks in Kowloon, Hong Kong as seen at sunset from the Suicide Cliffs.
Taken just before sunset on a Nikon Z5 at 130mm. The time of day added a softness to the scene that was missing before hand and the lighting complemented the pastels of the buildings. The longer focal length was essential to take in the scene and compress it from quite a distance. The location atop a nearby mountain was very important to view the buildings stacked into the distance like this, with the mountains and bay beyond that.
A fair bit of editing was done to increase the contrast and tweak the colours, highlighting the directional light in the shot. This helped accentuate all the stripes and overall verticality. This is also a vertical crop of a much wider original shot. I thought this worked better with so many stripes and shadows going on.
