This photograph showcases Sean Godsell Architects, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Design Hub in Melbourne, Australia.

The building's iconic circular glass disks that appear to extend endlessly into the sky from ground level and provide a unique backdrop to the busy inner city location of the building. I wanted to find a way to indicate the building's connection to the ground while also avoiding the mess of parked cars and garbage cans, that line the street day and night.

I wanted the street scene to, while remaining clean, provide a tension that matched the boldness of the architecture. To achieve this, I made frames with trams passing by and people walking down the street. Additionally, I used the shadow of the city skyline to subtly indicate the building's inner-city location. I combined a few frames of the building with separate images of trams and a single person walking to create the final image.
