2.7 - "Solid"

This image was from a commission at the Ritz Carlton Private Residence in DTLA. It was captured with a Nikon d850 and 24mm tilt-shift lens right before sunset. I had this image in mind all day but waited until the light was less harsh and it created a more calm mood. I merged 4 layers together for this image. One for the view outside the window, a base layer with the main part of the bedroom properly exposed, a third exposure to lighten up the hallway slightly, and a final exposure with the wall sconce turned on. The wall sconce was completely blown out and illuminating the hallway too much when exposing for the rest of the room, so I shot an extra layer of it properly exposed. I brushed that layer in without most of the additional light it gave off so that the eye was led to the view instead of being held up in the hallway. Other than that there were some basic curves, brightness and color adjustments to finish it off.
