This beautiful square in Antwerp is often featured as a prime example for public spaces in modern Flanders. As part of our university excursion to Belgium in July this square was a must see for us.
I tried to feature the impressive staircase in the back together with some action in the background. the shadows were also a key part of the framing, highlighted by one of our colorful dressed students standing directly on a shadow intersection. The strong lines of the construction elements are dominating the picture with the old church towers giving us some sense of the old city context.
I did not take any Tilt Shift lenses on this trip, nor did I take a tripod with me. These picture were all taken with my Canon EOS R, RF F4 24-105mm travel lens. The picture had to be taken "on the run", so any other setting was not an option. I did some basic Lightroom work on the picture and removed some people using AI Photoshop.
