Ancestral Walls

Anytime I travel on US Hwy 89 north of Flagstaff and I don’t have to be somewhere, and it’s daylight. You will find me here. Wupatki National Monument.
On this stop I roamed around the largest of the ruins, Wupatki Pueblo. It was mid to late afternoon. I admit not the best of lighting conditions. But, I’m a firm believer not only good but great images can be made anytime of day. The air was clear, bright and blue. In my opinion air quality is becoming just as crucial to photography as the time of day. Golden hour doesn’t guarantee great images, midday light doesn’t negate them either.
As afternoon clouds formed along with the strong angular light. I was motivated till I arrived at this image. My eyes seeing in color, my brain was translating to black and white, and the Zone System.

I'm not a fan of 'architecture photography' per se, as the imagery is pretty much all about modern buildings etc., nonetheless, I truly appreciate your image!

Thanks for your comment Bobby. If you didn't notice my other entries I don't spent much time around modern buildings.

seems like you have an amazing alternative around you!

yes, that’s why I were where I was ;-), I was often surrounded by visual bliss from just outside my door to hours around by foot, bicycle, or automobile.
