The Grand Canal in Venice overlooking the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. I planned on shooting this during sunset, but it started to rain pretty heavily late in the afternoon. I gave up on the shot and returned to my hotel room, thinking the night was done. Just before the sun hit the horizon, though, there was a break in the clouds. I went back hoping to get a nice sunset image with colorful clouds, but was treated instead to a lightning storm. I set the camera on an interval timer with long exposures and rested it on the bridge I was standing on since I didn't bring a tripod. This was my favorite shot of the night.
