Morning tea in a traditional teahouse in Chengdu, China.
When I stayed in Chengdu, I frequently visited this teahouse. What attracted me to this place was the authentic backdrop, the light leaking through the roof, and the smoke that added extra atmosphere.
The challenge of shooting there was that the place was poorly lit, so I always had to work with wide apertures. Otherwise, I would need to push the ISO too high or lower the shutter speed too much.
Since it was a scene with people who weren’t moving too fast, I decided to use a shutter speed of 1/125, which allowed me to keep the ISO at 500 with an aperture of f/3.2.
The gear I used was a Canon 5D Mark III with a 50mm f/1.2L lens.

Great shot! Are you familiar with DXO PureRaw? I confidently shoot at ISOs as high as 12,800 and achieve noise-free images. 3200 and 6400 even better.

Thank you , that is a good idea. Usually the noise reducers give me a plastic and unnatural look for these kind of scenes.
