Taken in August 2024 (D850 + 24-70 f/2.8). A fast moving storm was passing just on the edge of a lake near my home town and the loudness of thunder scared the two ducks, visible in the image, into flight and one the lightnings worked perfectly like a flash to freeze their motion. The image is a blend of 5 individual 15 second exposures each with its own lightning in the frame stacked using the "Lighten" blending mode in PS, all other editing was done in Camera Raw (vibrance, contrast and sharpness enhancements).
Bosko, hurray for PS blending modes & Camera Raw. and nature's high intensity strobe lights, I had one storm get so close the lighting actually illuminated the first rain drops to my surprise when it came back from the lab. And yes that was the last frame of that storm.
