For me saying what "it is" undermines the wonderful collaboration between subject, photographer, and viewer. When an image makes room for the viewer to bring their own interpretation into the piece then the image is always more than the sum of its individual components.
This image is one in a series I did for a book project called "Never Sleeps" about the beauty found in every day objects affected by rust.
Shot with Nikon D4 and I think the 70-200 f2.8
