My idea was to take an abstract picture of a perfect classic card castle. I used a single strobe with the smallest reflector dish I had to create deep shadows and a black background.

Building the castle was the hardest part. I wanted 4 perfect storeys with ideally aligned cards and different faces on different levels. I didn't use glue or tape because that would be cheating IMO.

I used a telephoto lens from a distance to flatten the perspective and make horizontal cards (almost) disappear.

Taken with Canon 40D + Tamron 70-200/2.8 Macro.
