Antarctica 2020
On our expedition to the Antarctic Circle, we were not expected to see emperor penguins. However, to our surprise, this emperor penguin and a buddy had made their way, possibly hundreds of miles, from their colony to our location. Being such a rare occurrence, our experts rushed us in our zodiacs to catch a glimpse of this beautiful Antarctic animal. When we arrived, it almost decided to dive in, unsure of our presence. Thankfully, it stayed around for 10 minutes, allowing us to create beautiful compositions on top of a freshly rolled glacier, rather than just snapping photos for proof. This is one of my all-time favorite series of compositions of any animal I’ve been lucky enough to photograph.
