Being in the mountains above the tree line makes you feel like you can soar like an eagle. The air is so pure and crisp. I sat on the back of my tailgate with my dog, just observing the light dance across the peaks in the afternoon sun. We had just finished a hike, and now it was my turn to sit back, taking it all in. No cell phone ringing. No social media annoying me. Just me, my dog, and the mountains. As I scanned the mountains, I was drawn to this patch of wild colors from many different alpine plant species. I thought it would make an interesting photo, so I used my super-telephoto lens to zoom in on a portion of it. There is so much happening in this shot that it makes a wonderful abstract, but just like life, if you look at the details, that is where it is all at.
