“Suspended Autumn”

Photograph composed of 14 focus stacked images.

The leaf is placed on a piece of 11” x 14” glass that was removed from a picture frame. The glass was then set on a piece of copy paper and elevated at the far end of the glass. There is a soft outdoor light coming from the far right and an LED light set at 5500K to cast a shadow. I took advantage of the 10 second timer and articulated screen to get the handheld light to cast the shadow I was looking for.

There was a need to focus stack as the camera was less than one foot away and the use of an extension tube made for a shallow depth of field.
