Taken in the morning before the mass of tourists. I still had to wait patiently for the path to clear completely.

The Senbon Torii, thousands of torii gates. Fushimi Inari is one of several thousand shrines dedicated to the Shinto god of rice, Inari. Taking a walk through the trails of the mountain here, encased in these brilliant red gates feels like a spiritual journey. The significance was lost on a foreigner like me, but I felt welcome and blessed none the less.
