I wanted to capture the fall colors of Yosemite so I snuck in a quick, one-day trip to capture sunset and sunrise. Shortly after I arrived, the clouds started to roll in over El Capitan as the sun was starting to set. There were a couple of controlled burns, which added the smoke to the valley floor on the other side of the river.
This photo is a combo of two bracketed shots; one for the shadows and one for the highlights. Both photos edited in LrC, then combined in PS. I didn't try to push to try to recover all the shadows because it would look over-processed. I like the diagonal yin and yang of the warmth of the setting sun on the left side of the image and the cool blue in the shadows and reflections on the right side of the photo.
Shot with Sony A1, Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 lens at 24mm, f/14, ISO 100, 1/40 on a tripod.
