This is a photo/story of making something out of a less than ideal scene. The place didn't look all that good. Lots of distracting elements, there was trash in the creek, the shrubbery was rough looking and didn't make for a good composition, but the colors were beautiful!
I got a few disappointing shots, but wanted to try something different. I put the camera back on the tripod and loosened the tilt axis, switched to around a 1/2 second exposure and tried some intentional blur. ISO 100, f/11, and 1/2 second. (guessing at the info, the original image is on a hard drive in a storage unit, sorry)
Canon 6D, 16-35mm at 35mm. I bumped up the saturation and contrast.
