Once every 5 to 10 years, the atacama desert in the north of chile bursts to life after winter rains, creating the "Flowering Desert" (desierto florido in spanish). There are so many photos of the sweeping plains of flowers, but I wanted to try to capture something more intimate, something that shows an individual flower in a blur of colour. This photo doesn't have a huge amount of post processing, just some standard cleaning up of highlights, shadows and contrast, plus a vignette to focus the eye. I also reduced some of the blue saturation because the white flowers have a blue tint to them and the blue clashed with the yellows and purples.
