"Skeleton Lighthouse"

I had ventured far from home to the north country, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula along Lake Superior. I had long wanted to be successful at capturing autumn colors at their peak while also having sufficiently nice skies and calm water upon which to boat. Everything finally came together, and I took this pic of the abandoned East Channel Lighthouse, on Grand Island near Munising. The bold, pale shades of this ruin added to the vibrant contrast of the composition. As with all my best photos, nature did most of the work.
